The Biopsychosocial Model of Addiction presented by Rex Smyly, PsyD
Dr. Smyly is an Addiction Psychologist and a Licensed Independent Substance Abuse Counselor, who has worked in the field of addiction since 1999. He was born in Alabama and grew up in Southern California.
Dr. Smyly is part Native American and is sensitive to indigenous cultures. He is fluent in Spanish and is also a history buff. An avid sports fan, Dr. Smyly leads an active lifestyle and relates well to alcoholic and addicted patients. Dr. Smyly is a Certified Forensics Counselor, Certified Criminal Justice Specialist and Certified Domestic Violence Counselor. He oversees intensive outpatient and anger management/domestic violence programs at his private practice, serves as Clinical Director for Gallus Detox, and is the Clinical Director at Canyon Crossing Recovery Center for Women.
